Greeting of Artistic Director
Jacques Mauger, President ATF

For the 4th edition of the National Trombone Festival, the Association des Trombonistes
Français (ATF) is pleased to collaborate with the Internationale Posaunen-Vereinigung (IPV,
Germany).
This year, the festival will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Lausanne, a former Olympic games host, situated near the Léman lake,is a beautiful city
with a rich musical heritage: Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Lausanne Opera,Maurice Béjart
Ballet, Music Conservatory (HEMU), jazz , and the list goes on...
Lausanne is ideally located near Italy, Germany and France. It's a perfect place for
musicians to reveal their experience, to put forth humanistic values and artistic conviction:
passion, the taste for excellence, tolerance, sharing...
During the three days of festivities, european and international trombonists, professionals,
students and amateur musicians alike, will gather for masterclasses, conferences and
concerts will be held throughout the city.
On behalf of the Association des Trombonists Français, I would like to thank my fellow ATF
board members, as well as those from the Internationale Posaunen-Vereinigung.
I would also like to thank the Lausanne Conservatory of Music (HEMU), and Hervé
Klopfenstein, the General Director of the Conservatory, for accepting to host this event.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of the artists for their contribution in
making this 4th edition of the National Trombone Festival a success.
Thank you to all of our partners and sponsors for their support, and thank you to the entire
fetival team for their precious collaboration, and for making this event possible.

I wish you all an excellent festival!

Jacques Mauger,
President Association des Trombonistes Français
