Gustav Rivinius

Als bisher einziger deutscher Musiker wurde Gustav Rivinius (Cello) mit dem 1. Preis und der Goldmedaille des Internationalen Tschaikowsky Wettbewerbs 1990 ausgezeichnet. Seither konzertiert er als Solist auf der ganzen Welt mit führenden Musikern, Orchestern und Dirigenten. Ebenso leidenschaftlich widmet er sich der Kammermusik. Er gründete das Trio Gasparo da Salò, das Arkas Trio, das Rivinius KlavierQuartett, das Tammuz Piano Quartet und das Bartholdy Quintett und ist gefragter Gast bedeutender Musikfestivals. Dort musiziert er u.a. regelmäßig mit Lars Vogt, Christian Tetzlaff, Antje Weithaas, Isabelle Faust und Sharon Kam. Zahlreiche CD-Aufnahmen bezeugen seine künstlerische Tätigkeit.

Gustav Rivinius lehrt Cello seit vielen Jahren als Professor an der Hochschule für Musik Saar. Er gibt jährlich Meisterkurse und war Juror beim Internationalen Tschaikowsky Wettbewerb 2011.

Gustav Rivinius (cello) is the only German musician ever to have been awarded 1st prize and the gold medal at the 1990 International Tchaikovsky Competition. Since then he has performed as a soloist all over the world with leading musicians, orchestras and conductors. He is equally passionate about chamber music. He founded the Trio Gasparo da Salò, the Arkas Trio, the Rivinius Piano Quartet, the Tammuz Piano Quartet and the Bartholdy Quintet and is a sought-after guest at major music festivals. There he regularly performs with Lars Vogt, Christian Tetzlaff, Antje Weithaas, Isabelle Faust and Sharon Kam, among others, and numerous CD recordings bear witness to his artistic activities.

Gustav Rivinius has been teaching cello for many years as professor at the Hochschule für Musik Saar. He gives annual master classes and was a juror at the International Tchaikovsky Competition 2011.
